The carnival is over. (Or, “Mum’s birthday celebrations, part deux.”)

Mum’s officially gone and done it. Entered a new decade. Though, strictly speaking I suppose she did that the day after her 59th. Pfft. Maths.

Anyway, happy 60th, mia madre.

The gig in the Cross was pretty good. I think. I can’t remember. I put quite a bit of money behind the bar and my stinginess meant that I’d be buggered if I was going to let it go to waste. As a result I also have only one (very blurry) photographic token of the evening. Hmm. Shame.

But I was sober enough when our special surprise secret guest, Ray Beadle, did his set. Lovely. Just lovely. What a dude. Nice guy, too. Hung around to smash some drinks and chat to folk. This daughter is forever grateful.

I am also pleased, however little I remember of the evening, to have joined a couple of musical types together. Rod Crundwell will now be appearing on Tommy’s band, Los Skeletone Blues‘ next album!
